The Manteca Parks and Recreation Department is conducting a week-long baton camp from June 28 to July 2 that includes being part of the Graffiti Sweeties in Manteca’s Fourth of July parade on July 3. Instructor Dandi Manuel has 40 years experience as a twirler and over 20 years as an instructor during which time a number of students have earned state and national championships. The cost for ages 4 through 6 classes from 9 to 10 a.m. is $25 for residents and $35 for non-residents, and from 7 through 18 years of age from 10 a.m. until noon, the cost is $35 for residents and $45 for non-residents. Youth participating in the parade must pay a $10 T-shirt fee on the first day of class to the instructor. Batons are supplied during class. For more information contact Parks and Rec at 456-8600.
