The Fourth of July is a go once again in Ripon.
It wasn’t too long ago that the fireworks spectacular appeared in jeopardy.
But thanks to the efforts of the Ripon Chamber Foundation along with the support of local businesses such as Cal Crush and the community, the Independence Day pyrotechnic display will again fill the night skies at the Mistlin Sports Park.
The free fireworks show will start at 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 4. Cost for parking at the park is $5.
Several events are underway to help fund the fireworks show.
From now through Sunday, Save Mart at 1453 Goodwin Drive will have cash donation boxes available at the registers.
On Saturday, June 24, the Ripon Freedom Barbecue all-you-can-eat event will take place at Mavis Stouffer Park, 1000 Stouffer St., from 3 to 7 p.m. Cost is $12.50 per person.
Included will be some friendly competitions between the Ripon Police Department and the Ripon Consolidated Fire District along with the Lockeford Sausage vendor and pies for sale.
Tickets are available at the Ripon Chamber of Commerce.
