RIPON — The Bethany Christmas Choir entertained members of the senior citizen campus Tuesday morning with a series of inspirational and spirited songs of the season.

The 32-member choir was directed by Marilyn Iremonger. They delivered an hour-long presentation to some 45 who joined in a follow-up sing-along of “Joy to the World,” “Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer,” and “We Wish You a Merry Christmas.”

A group of five men joined the women in a single row singing bass and tenor.  They included Bill Dirksen, John Padmas, Philip Layman, Everett Fikse and Chaplain Fritz Harms.

The choir concluded with “I’m Dreaming of a White Christmas.”

The singing group was organized just this year and plans to continue their presentations on an annual basis.  Singers and members of their audience came from throughout the widespread Bethany Campus including, The Garden Apartments, Town Square, The Manor Apartments, Sunset, Bethany Home, and Beth Haven Assisted Living.

A number of Bethany Home staffers also attended the event joining in the community sing-along that followed the concert with the piano accompaniment of Betty Edlund assisted by Margie Matson.

The last of four presentations is scheduled for today at 9 a.m. at Almond Valley Church.
