RIPON — Julie De Araujo, Bethany Home’s director of development in Ripon, has been nominated to receive recognition for her efforts in dedication, time and fundraising in support of the philanthropic needs of her community.

The Association of Fund Raising Professionals, Yosemite Chapter, in conjunction with the Modesto Rotary Club is hosting a National Philanthropy Day luncheon at the Doubletree Hotel on Tuesday, Nov. 1.

De Araujo along with other recipients will be part of a Power Point presentation depicting the philanthropic activities in her life.

“Nominees such as you have made the commitment to support philanthropy in Stanislaus County and to keep the spirit of civic betterment alive and strong,” reads in the congratulatory letter she received earlier this month.

She has been asked to prepare a one to two minute response to receiving her award.  Julie De Araujo is the daughter of the late Margaret DeJong who headed up the nursing staff at Bethany years ago.
