It’s all for 11-year-old Erika Decena – a blood drive on Sunday.

The McParland School sixth grader has been recently diagnosed with chronic Myelogenous Leukemia.  Any blood donations will help cover the cost of her blood transfusions, according to a family member.

One of her McParland classmates said, “I think everyone should come out – it will mean a lot,” said Kimberly Garcia.  “I can’t wait for Erika to come back to school.”

The Delta Blood Bank is scheduled to accept donations at the Cornerstone Community Church on Comconex Road from 11:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m.

Erika’s family has resided in the Manteca community since the 1940s dating back to the grandparents.
