Ripon Community Athletic Foundation is thrilled about the soon-to-be-installed bleachers at Stouffer Field.
At Monday’s 7 p.m. school board meeting, Ripon Unified Superintendent Siegrid ‘Ziggy’ Robeson is scheduled to provide a project update on the Ripon High football stadium bleacher seats.
Since 2013, RCAF has done $1.6 million in community-donated improvements to the sports venue at Ripon High. This includes the football field, all-weather track, the double-sided LED screen scoreboard, and the infrastructure.
The bleachers and restrooms are next on the RCAF list.
“We’re excited about the design of the new home bleachers,” said RCAF President Stephanie Hobbs in her latest social media post. “There will be more paths up to the top (no more climbing over everyone else) and wheelchairs will have space in the bottom row to sit with their families.”
Plans by WLC Architects consisting of the steps with anodized aluminum handrails, space seating, wheelchair spaces, and wheelchair companion seats will be made available at the meeting in the Council Chambers, 259 N. Wilma Ave.
Hobbs and others have been especially pleased that RUSD is picking up the tab on this phase of the stadium renovation project.
