A new Manteca High vice principal could be announced at the Manteca Unified school board meeting on Tuesday.

The decision to the fill the post is among the closed session agenda items.

The vacancy was made available when Raul Mora was promoted to assistant principal at last month’s board meeting.

Mora has been at MHS since 2005, serving as vice principal.

His responsibilities included personnel evaluations, interviewing prospective employees, administering standardized testing, and developing emergency procedures along with a school safety plan.

Trustees will have a chance to discuss several items during the 7 p.m. open session, including:

•Adopting substantial completion contracts with F&H Construction for the Lathrop High stadium and swimming pool; the Neil Hafley School modernization (third phase);  and Lathrop School, where portable buildings there were recently moved from the now closed Lathrop Annex.
•Considering a school board meeting change, from Oct. 13 (Tuesday) to Oct. 12 (Monday), and doing away with Oct. 27 meeting.
•Appointing new architects for those projects eligible for state funding.
•Looking into possible solutions for future growth in the southwest Stockton community of Weston Ranch.

The district’s administration building is located at 2271 W. Louise Ave., Manteca.
