The remains collected from the yard of a Manteca residence have been confirmed to be those of a missing Stockton woman Karen Sterzl, 36, when she disappeared in December of 1990.
Sheriff’s  deputies and Stockton Police unearthed the skeletal remains at the vacant home in the 400 block of Park Avenue in the south, central part of Manteca, May 28.  The remains were sent to the San Joaquin County Coroner’s Office for testing.
Stockton Police public information officer Joseph Silva said the determination was made through the use of dental records in the investigation.  The remains were found between a four foot wide section between the side of the garage and a neighboring fence.
