Hundreds of youths and adults are expected to hit the lanes at Manteca Bowl & Family Fun Center in a bid to make a difference in the lives of over 5,000 youth who receive help every year with free tutoring in Manteca, Ripon, Lathrop, and Escalon.
They are part of the volunteers who have stepped forward so far for the 17th annual Give Every Child a Chance Antone E. Raymus Bowl-A-Thon on Saturday, Feb. 27, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
GECAC Executive Director Carol Davis is hoping business, families, and organizations will challenge each other in a bid to help raise money as well as have fun.
There are five bowlers per team with a minimum goal of raising $250 per team. Teams receive two games of bowling, T-shirt, use of shoes, and a drink.
There are also prizes for overall highest collecting top youth team, overall top three individual students, and prizes for individual youth collectors. The youth who collects the most money over $500 will receive their choice of one of the following prizes; Samsung Gear S Smart Watch or Apple Watch Sport 38mm with Sports Band. In addition, the school that collects the most pledges (minimum of $1,000) will receive $500 school shopping spree.
The Bowl-A-Thon is a major fundraiser for GECAC bringing people of all ages together to raise funds for a program that provides free help with school work, while helping students build their confidence and self-esteem.  GECAC, along with bowl-a-thon major sponsor the Manteca Bowl and Family Fun Center, look forward to seeing you on Feb. 27.
