Challenging others to bowl can help make a difference in the lives of over 2,000 youth who receive help every year with free tutoring.

The 12th annual Give Every Child A Chance Antone E. Raymus 12th Annual Bowl A Thon takes place on Saturday, Feb. 26, at the Manteca Bowl & Family Fun Center.

Marie Raymus, in partnership with GECAC, will be hosting the event by donating the use of the Manteca Bowl from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. that day.  This includes all 48 lanes, bowling shoes, a soft drink for each participant, and staff to ensure the success of the Bowl-A-Thon. It is all at no charge to GECAC.

GECAC Executive Director Carol Davis is hoping businesses, families, and organizations will challenge each other in a bid to help raise money as well as have fun.

There are five bowlers per team with a minimum goal of raising $250 per team. Teams receive two games of bowling, T-shirt, use of shoes, and a drink.

Grand prize winner categories include Overall Top Adult Team, Overall Challenge Category Team Winners, Overall Highest Collecting Top Youth Team, Overall Top Three Individual Students, and prizes for Individual Youth Collectors.

Individual youth collectors can earn extra prizes such as bowling certificates, pizza certificates, and movie passes.  The top three individual youth collectors can earn passes to Boomers.

The school that collects the most pledges (minimum of $1,000) will receive a complete computer package or a $500 school shopping spree.

One hundred percent of net proceeds benefit GECAC.
