Catching a Manteca Transit bus on Spreckels Avenue by the Target Store is about to get safer for passengers and motorists alike.
The Manteca City Council on Tuesday is expected to ink an agreement with the San Joaquin Council of Governments to secure $97,648 in state funds to make improvements to that bus stop as well as reimburse the city for work already done at the Cherry Lane bus stop in front of the Manteca Senior Center.
The Spreckels location will consist of a bus turnout so Manteca Transit buses will not need to stop in the travel lane. Improvements at both locations include a shelter, bench, and trash receptacle.
The council meets Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the Civic Center, 1001 W. Center St.
