It was an exciting day for the first John Cambra Ag/Mechanics Scholarship Car Show sponsored by John and Karen Cambra, which took place at the MRPS Hall on Sunday, August 16.

The car show filled the 100 block of Grant Street in front of the MRPS Hall with some 60 restored and customized cars that drew hundreds of car enthusiasts despite the warm summer weather.

John is currently fighting a medical condition and because of this his family decided they would like to start the scholarship fund in his name and what better than an AG/Mechanics scholarship, since John who previously owned Cen-Cal Services, Inc. knows too well how important these studies are, and with John's passion for cars it gave the family a perfect way to raise money and gave them the idea of an Ag/Mechanics Scholarship Car Show.

The car show was a huge success with over 60 cars featured, four of which were John's pride and joy that were built in his rural machine shop south of Manteca. All proceeds from the event will go toward scholarships for graduating seniors in the Manteca/Ripon area.

The family would like to continue this event annually.
