Two men carjacked and kidnapped a 27-year-old woman in the parking lot between McDonalds and Western Dental in the 1300 block of East Yosemite Avenue near Highway 99 Thursday shortly after 9 a.m.
An African American man said to be about 5-foot-8 allegedly threatened the woman with a semi-automatic pistol, according to Manteca Police. The suspect then forced her to ride with them in her 2002 white, Nissan Sentra on the westbound Highway 120 Bypass and then Interstate 205 before releasing her from the car in Mountain House some 25 miles to the west. The second suspect was also described as a male but had no further description or age.
Meanwhile Manteca dispatchers were sending notifications of the kidnapping to surrounding law enforcement agencies to be on the lookout for the vehicle which traveled over the Altamont and into San Francisco where it was involved in a collision.
Shortly before 10 a.m. Manteca police received a call from the kidnap victim saying she had been released by the two men in Mountain House where she borrowed a cell phone from a resident to call back to Manteca.
It was about 1:30 when the stolen vehicle crashed in San Francisco and the suspects fled on foot only to highjack yet another vehicle.
Manteca Police spokesman Sgt. Michael Aguilar said the woman was reportedly unhurt physically but was emotionally distraught over her experience.
