RIPON – One of the gardens featured in the Saturday, Sept. 12, Ripon Garden Tour showcases a spacious back yard of a country home that has hosted many social gatherings of family and friends over the years.

Highlights of this garden include brick walkways, fruit trees, a vegetable garden, a garden house and stilt playhouse with sandbox underneath. This play house was built by the homeowners themselves. All together, these features complement the casual, comfortable feel of the back-yard garden.

Another garden featured in this summer’s garden tour has a French country theme. It features a newly landscaped 21,000-square-foot lawn with over 55 varieties of trees, shrubs, and flowering specimens. Added attractions include a seven-tier waterfall in the yard, with a crossing bridge and putting green.

Raffle prizes and refreshments will be served at this home.

The tour will be held Saturday, Sept. 12, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tickets are $15 each for adults, $7 each for children. (No children’s strollers.)
