A holiday treat is in store for those 40 and older this Saturday.
A champagne brunch and fashion show co-hosted by Give Every Child a Chance and The Breakfast Crew is taking place at the Manteca Senior Center, 295 Cherry Lane.
Fashions are being provided by Kohl’s.
It is part of the monthly breakfasts staged by The Breakfast Crew.
The menu consists of a shrimp cocktail appetizer, tri-tip, fingerling potatoes, candied carrots, green beans, and a Hawaiian roll for $10. Dessert includes Mimosas and strawberry crepes.
Tickets are limited and must be purchased in advance at the Manteca Senior Center or by calling 209.456.8650.
• CD COLLECTION DRIVE: The second annual Music for Alzheimer’s, sponsored by Spaces and Progressive Designs, is taking place this month at 208 W. North Street. Bring your new or used CDs by Friday and be entered into a special drawing. The person with the winning ticket will receive a $100 gift certificate to Ernie’s Food & Spirits in Manteca. All CDs will be given to local Alzheimer’s care facilities in Manteca and Ripon.
• FOOD AND CLOTHING DRIVE: The Manteca Bulletin is holding a food and clothing drive benefiting Second Harvest Food Bank and children from the Manteca Unified School District. There are nearly 500 homeless students enrolled in district schools and even more children in need who regularly “shop” at one of the many clothes closets at various MUSD school sites. Bring your food and clothing donations to the Bulletin office at 531 E. Yosemite Avenue between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. from now until Friday.
• GIFT WRAPPING: Rainbow Girls Manteca Assembly #38 has a gift wrapping station inside Manteca’s Kmart store on Northgate Drive. They are wrapping gifts for donations. The hours are 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. through Dec. 23 and 9 a.m. until noon on Christmas Eve.
