LATHROP – It’s a Jailhouse Scramble for a good cause.

That’s the fifth annual golf tournament sponsored by the Lathrop Rotary and the San Joaquin County Correctional Officers Association set for Saturday, June 11, at the Old River Golf Course in Tracy.

Proceeds will benefit the Hospice and San Joaquin and scholarship programs of the two sponsor organizations. The theme of the event this year is “18 Holes for Hope – Together we can change the world.”

The Jailhouse Scramble, which is still open for players, will begin with a continental breakfast at 7 a.m. followed by registration from 7 to 8 a.m. Tee off scramble will be at 8 o’clock. Lunch at 12:30 p.m. will consist of ribs and pulled pork plus salad and dessert from Texas Roadhouse.

Green fee per person, which includes cart, is $100. Spaces are still available for Saturday’s play.

There will be other fun activities as well off the greens. There will be a silent auction, plenty of raffle prizes, goodie bags, beer bunkers and snacks. The cocktails and snacks are sponsored by River Islands at Lathrop.

Prizes to be awarded to lucky players include the following: a Polaris RZR XL sponsored by Delta Power Sports in Lathrop for the hole-in-one prize; cash awards for the first place and second place teams, and a putting contest with a $50 cash award. The on-the-green contest is sponsored by Texas Roadhouse of Tracy.

For those who would like to be a part of the fun but don’t want to take part in the game, food and drink tickets are available for $25 per person.

Also available are hole sponsorships for $100.
