Weight-loss patients in Manteca now have a CIGNA Healthcare certified Bariatric Center at Doctors Hospital of Manteca, according to its CEO Nicholas Tejeda.

The designation reflects the hospital meeting the rigorous quality standards as nationally recognized medical standards for treatment of weight-loss patients, he added.

“Our designation as a CIGNA Bariatric Center is a testament to our highly skilled and experienced team of physicians and staff who are dedicated to improving the health of our community,” Tejeda said. “Our physicians and staff work very hard to provide quality patient care, and this recognition is evidence of the high standard of care we deliver every day.”

The CIGNA designation recognizes surgical programs with a demonstrated track record and favorable outcomes in bariatric surgery. Factors evaluated include physician training and experience, volume of procedures, associated outcomes, implementation of multidisciplinary patient approach and comprehensive pre and post operative care.

As part of the comprehensive program Doctors offers free monthly educational weight-loss seminars and support groups.
