Class of 2017 Manteca USD gears up for graduations

The graduation season is fast approaching at the Manteca Unified School District.
The Manteca Adult School will kick off the pomp and circumstances on Friday, May 19, at 10 a.m. at the district office (rooms 101-103).
Later that day, Calla High (Calvary Community Church, 815 W. Lathrop Road) and New Vision High (multi-purpose room) will honor their graduating students at 7 p.m.
On Tuesday, May 23, be.tech – the district’s charter high school – is scheduled to have graduation in the MUSD Plaza, 2271 W. Louise Ave., beginning at 5 p.m.
Several elementary eighth grade promotion exercises will also be held that day, including Great Valley (GV gym, 10 a.m.), Neil Hafley (school courtyard, 2 p.m.), McParland (school courtyard, 6 p.m.), New Haven (Shasta gym, 6:30 p.m.), Mossdale (Mossdale gym, 7 p.m.) and Nile Garden (Nile Garden, 7:30 p.m.).
Wednesday, May 24, promises to be a busy day for the eighth-grade promotional events in the district. The schedule is as followed:
u10 a.m. – Joseph Widmer (Widmer gym), George Komure (Komure gym), Lincoln (multi-purpose room), and Shasta (Shasta gym).
-2 p.m. – Joshua Cowell (school courtyard).
-4:30 p.m. – Sequoia (Manteca High gym).
-6 p.m. – Golden West (GW gym) and Veritas (Veritas gym).
-7 p.m. – Brock Elliott (Sierra High gym), French Camp (FC gym), Stella Brockman (SB gym), and Woodward (Woodward gym).’
August Knodt (AK gym) and Lathrop Elementary (Lathrop Elementary gym) will have their eighth-grade events at 10 a.m. on Thursday, May 25.
That evening, Lathrop High (LHS gym) and Sierra High (Daniel Teicheira Stadium) will commencement exercises for both schools beginning at 7 o’clock.
East Union High (Dino Cunial Field), Manteca High (Guss Schmiedt Field) and Weston Ranch High (WRHS stadium) will celebrate graduation for their respective seniors beginning at 7 p.m. on Friday, May 26.
