Colony Oak promotes 59 to high school

The next stop for most of the 59 eighth-grade students at Colony Oak Elementary School will be Ripon High.
They received their promotion certificates to do so at Wednesday’s ceremony held in the Multi-Purpose Building.
The Class of 2017 shared their history to all in attendance. Included were families, friends and special guests.
Of the 59 honored, 39 earned academic excellence by making the honor roll throughout this past year.
Included were Malery States, Caroline Parker and Kailey Tijero.
States led in the Pledge of Allegiance, Parker provided the welcome speech and Tijero had the honor of introducing the guest speaker.
Principal Cheryl Griffiths presented the class to the Ripon Unified school board Vice President Kit Oase for promotion.
