Concerts, breakfasts pair of holiday cheer

Looking for something to do to get you in the Christmas mood today or Sunday?

Here are a few options:

DRIVE-THRU NATIVITY SCENE: Sequoia Heights Baptist Church is staging its 20th annual living drive-thru nativity scene tonight from 6 to 9 p.m. in the church parking lot at 1050 S. Union Road. Admission is free.

SONdance PERFORMANCE
: SONdance is staging “A Christmas to Remember” at the Ripon Christian High Performing Arts Center, 425 N. Maple Ave., in Ripon today at 2 p.m.

Tickets are $10 at the door.

CALVARY COMMUNITY CHRISTMAS  MUSICAL: Calvary Community Church at 815 W. Lathrop Road is staging the original production “Christmas Dreamin’ with a cast of 100 tonight  at 7 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. There is no charge.

BROCK ELLIOTT PANCAKE SLAM
: Brock Elliott School will be having their annual Holiday Pancake Slam at the Brock Elliott cafeteria on 1110 Stonum Lane in Manteca today from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m.

 Breakfast will be $4 for adults, $2 for children six years and up and free for kids under five. The all-you- can-eat breakfast will include pancakes, sausage, milk, juice, coffee and hot chocolate.

Santa Claus will be at the breakfast, and parents are welcome to being their cameras and their kids for pictures on Santa’s lap.

Spreckels Park Little League will also be there hosting their annual baseball sign-ups.

VOICES FOR THE KING CONCERT:  The all men’s singing group “Voices for the King” will be performing tonight at 7 p.m. at the Immanuel Christian Reformed Crouch, 517 Orange Ave., Ripon.

The group consists of men from Ripon and surrounding communities.

Barbara Viss is the director while Glen deJong will serve as the accompanist on the organ or piano.

A freewill offering will be taken for the Gospel Rescue Mission in Stockton.

PARADE & MORE IN LATHROP
: The Lathrop Holiday Parade will take place at 11 a.m. today with the theme of “The Joys of Holiday Toys.”The parade awards will be presented in the Lathrop Community Center gym directly after the parade.

The Holiday Boutique will take place at the Lathrop Senior Center (15707 Fifth Street, Lathrop) from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. today.

Lathrop’s annual Tree Lighting event is at the Lathrop Community Center (15557 Fifth Street) tonight  at 6:30 p.m. Holiday songs and carols will be led by the Lathrop Elementary School Choir, the Lathrop High School Choir and the Lathrop Area Music Program. Refreshments will be served and Santa will come to visit the children.

MANTECA COMMUNITY CONCERT ON SUNDAY
: The Manteca Community Choir under the direction of Anne Talcott will be performing a Christmas cantata, “Hallelujah! Light Has Come” on Sunday at 7 p.m.  Manteca Presbyterian Church will host the event. There are 60 plus members of the community choir plus guests from Stockton’s St. Paul’s Methodist Church.  There is no charge for this musical event although a free-willing offering will be taken for future performances.
