The annual Costa’s Wild-game Feed will be held Friday, Dec. 5, from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Manteca Trailer and Motorhome, 204 Vasconcellos (corner E. Highway 120). A story in the Monday, Dec. 1, edition of the Bulletin inadvertently indicated that the event will be held on March 5.
The event is open to the public, and the cost is a voluntary donation to needy families in the area. One hundred percent of donations collected will be used to help these families at Christmas, and that is made possible because all the food served are donated by brothers Jim and Jessie Costa who are avid hunters, their friends who are also hunters, and many others who have been helping this charity effort for many years. The entire event, from the cooking of the food to set-up and clean-up, is also provided by an all-volunteer crew.
The menu will consist of fish, deer, elk, wild pig, bear and other assorted game prepared by volunteer cooks. Complimenting the main entrees will be various side dishes which are also donated. If you can’t make it to the feed but are willing to help the needy, send a check to P.O. Box 2036, Manteca, CA 95336. Make checks payable to Costa’s Automotive with Game Feed noted in the memo.
