Long-time Manteca resident Wayne "Cowboy" Cummings is hosting a fundraiser for his granddaughter Kathryn Faull, who is the reigning Miss San Joaquin County 2011, this Sunday, May 6, from 1 to 3 p.m. at his ranch at 20498 S. Airport Way, just south of Woodward Avenue.

Cummings was a long-time promoter of the Manteca Pro Rodeo.

You can meet Miss San Joaquin 2012 Kathryn Faull and have your picture taken on a horse, or with Miss San Joaquin County, or both for a $15 donation. She will speak about her title and her platform, Breast Health Awareness. Refreshments will be available.

“I will be competing in the Miss California Pageant in Fresno this coming June,” Faull noted. “This fundraiser will assist me in getting closer to the Miss California and Miss America titles. The Miss America Organization has teamed up with Children's Miracle Network Hospitals to help raise money for children’s hospitals in communities throughout the United States. The money I raise will benefit the Children's Miracle Network Hospitals, the Miss America Scholarship Fund and help me offset some of my expenses. Please come out and meet me and have a picture taken. I thank you so much for your support and will do my very best to represent San Joaquin County with pride.”

She represents all of San Joaquin County, including Manteca. The winner of Miss California then goes on to compete in Miss America, held in Las Vegas in January.
