FRENCH CAMP - The third vehicle to be torched in less than a week in French Camp was an ‘80s Chevy in the 9800 block of Lockhart Road, according to Paul Tualla, assistant chief of the French Camp McKinley Fire Department.

The first engine on the scene at 5:30 a.m. Thursday found the interior of the vehicle fully involved, Tualla said.

Fire department investigators located evidence at the scene that indicated the fire had been intentionally set.  It has not been determined whether the Thursday fire was connected with the other car fires that occurred in the early morning hours Saturday and Sunday.

On Saturday a ‘90s Ford Ranger pickup was torched in the 8700 block of Priest Road.  Evidence reportedly indicated the fire had been intentionally set.

Sunday morning saw a ‘90s BMW passenger car totally engulfed in flames in the 300 block of Waters Road.  The cause of that fire was undetermined by fire investigators.

Anyone having information on the cause of the fires or the responsible person is urged to call investigator Paul Tualla at (209) 982-0592.
