8 burglaries, 5 stolen cars in 5 days

The last five days in Manteca have been busy for Manteca Police officers with eight auto burglaries, eight residential burglaries, five stolen vehicles, and one case of arson.

The arson report involved a shop building in the 400 block of Moffat Avenue on Monday where a transient had reportedly used a barrel as a source of heat inside the structure where he bedded down at night.  The barrel had been vented to remove some of the dangerous carbon monoxide.

The most recent vehicle theft was reported shortly before 7 a.m. on Tuesday taken from the 400 block of South Powers Avenue.  Earlier in the week another vehicle was stolen from the 300 block of North Grant Avenue.

A third vehicle was reported stolen from the 1700 block of Fieldstone Lane at 1:15 a.m. on Saturday.  The fourth vehicle was reported stolen in the 900 block of Poplar Avenue Monday morning.  The fifth was stolen from a residence in the 700 block of Chenin Blanc Drive.
The auto burglaries were scattered around the community from two separate cases in the 1900 block of East Yosemite Avenue to the 1700 block of Savory Drive.  Other vehicles broken into and burglarized were in the 400 block of East North Street, the 500 block of Eastwood Avenue, the 2000 block of Holbrook Lane, the 1000 block of Hacienda Avenue, and a shoplift was taken from the 1700 block of East Yosemite Avenue.

Residential burglaries were also reported throughout Manteca with one occurring shortly before 10 a.m. in the 400 block of Chablis Way.  Auto parts were reportedly stolen from an apartment in the 400 block of Sutter Street.

Other residential burglaries occurred in the 600 block of Fern Dell Lane, the 400 block of East Alameda Street, the 300 block of South Powers Avenue, the 1000 block of Foxfire Drive, the 1500 block of Red Pheasant Lane, the 2000 block of West Yosemite Avenue, the 1400 block of Trailwood Avenue and the 500 block of Chablis Way.
