Attempted bank robbery suspects in court today

Wednesday’s two attempted bank robbery suspects are in San Joaquin County Jail awaiting their court dates today in the Manteca branch of the San Joaquin County Superior Court.

Gabriel G. Salazar, 24, of Manteca, is being held in lieu of $1,155,000 bail that includes three felony charges for his alleged involvement in an attempted robbery on the Chase Bank in the 100 block of East Center Street before noon Wednesday.

He is also being held to answer on two warrants – one for $50,000 out of San Joaquin County – and the other for $5,000 from San Luis Obispo County.  He will appear in the Manteca court at 1:30 p.m.

Joseph R. Miranda, 21, also of Manteca,  is scheduled to appear in the Manteca court at 1 p.m. today on charges of attempted bank robbery and conspiracy.  His bail has been set at $560,000.

The teenager,  who was the alleged getaway driver in the plan to take over the Chase Bank at gunpoint,  was taken to the San Joaquin County Juvenile Justice Center.
