Bad check writer nabbed on felony charge thru through store, police efforts

RIPON — A Manteca woman who allegedly passed a fictitious check for more than $500 at a Ripon supermarket Friday was arrested by Ripon Police on a felony charge.

First Sergeant Steve Merchant credited the close cooperation of the Save Mart employees with having physical evidence as well as a video surveillance for responding officers to easily identify the suspect.

Lucy Veronica Peralta, 48, was taken into custody and transported to the Ripon Police Department for booking.
