Manteca Police are looking for an armed bank robber that made his getaway pedaling a mountain bike.

The Bank of the West branch on Commerce Drive in East Manteca was held up shortly after 3:30 p.m. Friday just two days after Manteca Police thwarted an attempted bank takeover at the Chase branch on Center Street.

Police said the robber was a 5-foot-7 Hispanic male between 25 and 30 years with short hair. He had a gun displayed in his waistband.

There was a tattoo on the side of his neck and his arm.
After robbing the teller, the man exited the bank and fled to the north where he had his mountain bike. He hopped on and pedaled away.

South County Crime Stoppers are posting a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest of the responsible party. You do not need to leave your name when you call the tip line at 823-4636.
