Robert Joe Aguilar Jr., 28, of Stockton will be spending the next 25 years to life in prison as a result of an investigation conducted by Manteca Police narcotics detective Sam Gallego.
On Dec. 10, 2008 the San Joaquin County Sheriff and San Joaquin County Probation conducted a county wide sweep for individuals on parole. Law enforcement agencies county-wide assisted the Sheriff to include Manteca Police detectives during the three day operation.
Gallego during the sweep located Robert J. Aguilar Jr. in Stockton. Gallego located 270 grams of methamphetamine all packaged for sale and 4.2 grams of cocaine in Aguilar’s possession. Sheriff Steve Moore acknowledged that the sweep was very successful and this arrest was one of the largest from the three day operation. Aguilar, who is considered a career criminal, had prior criminal convictions. The conviction that stemmed from the drug arrest resulted in a third strike. On May 5, the San Joaquin County Superior Court sentenced Aguilar to the long prison sentence.
