The delivery van from Manteca Floral Shop on South Main Street was stolen over the weekend for the second time in seven months.

Shop owner JoAnn Morin said the van was last used Saturday afternoon making a delivery of wedding flowers to St. Anthony’s Church on North Street before it was parked behind the business two blocks south of the downtown business district.

Morin said the 2005 white Ford van has a Manteca Floral logo along with a bouquet of flowers painted on the side of the vehicle. She discovered the loss when opening the store Monday morning when she immediately called police.

The shop owners said in the previous theft thieves had broken into the building and located the keys that allowed them to drive the van away. She added that she was receiving phone calls from motorists reporting the erratic driving of the man behind the wheel – not knowing it had been stolen. It was later found in a Stockton parking lot.

The van is now nine years old and has more than 140,000 miles on the odometer.
