A quick response by Manteca Police officers Armen Avakian and April Pliler cut off fleeing burglars from a home in the 1600 block of Goldpoppy Monday morning in the southwest portion of the city.

The resident was home alone taking a shower when the pair allegedly entered through an unlocked sliding glass door.  Officers said they took $84 from the man’s wallet, dropping it and running when they were surprised by the victim.

The two officers located the alleged burglars as they drove onto the Highway 120 Bypass shortly before 3 p.m.  The two officers made a traffic stop on the bypass.

Police said the pair offered no resistance and were taken into custody and later transferred to the San Joaquin County Jail in French Camp.

Adam Roy Aguilar, 20, of Los Banos, was charged with four felonies and one warrant out of Los Banos.  His total bail was set at $130,000.

The felony charges included being a felon in possession of a firearm, a convict carrying a concealed weapon in a vehicle, receiving known stolen property and two other charges.

Jesus A. Quintana, 33, of Atwater was held in lieu of $75,000 bail and was charged with residential burglary and possession of a firearm that was located under a rear seat along with ammunition.

The court dates for both men are set for July 2 in the Manteca Branch of the San Joaquin County Superior Court.
