LATHROP — Lathrop Police are investigating a carjacking incident involving a gun at the Peña’s Market on East Louise Avenue just west of the Union Pacific Railroad tracks.

A 44-year-old male reported to police that he just purchased some snacks inside the store around 10:20 p.m. Sunday and was sitting inside his vehicle outside the store when two males approached his vehicle. One of them, a while male adult in his 20s and armed with hand gun, told the victim that they needed his car, a 2002 four-door Black Buick.

Fearing for his life, the victim got out and let the two suspects get into the vehicle. The two men then drove away to an unknown location.

The victim’s car was later found at Harlan Road just south of Roth Road unoccupied. The vehicle was reportedly involved in a hit-and-run collision and showed minor damages.

The white male suspect was wearing a white T-shirt and blue jeans, while the Asian male suspect, also in his 20s, was wearing a black shirt and blue pants.
