Manteca robbery suspect arrested

A man believed to have robbed at least three Manteca businesses – the most recent on Dec. 3 – has been arrested in Stanislaus County.

Troy Boutelle, 47, is currently being held at the Stanislaus County Jail after it was discovered that he was the primary suspect in as many as 20 different robberies up and down the valley – stretching from as far north as Elk Grove and as far south as Atwater. Boutelle is a Modesto resident.

An in-depth investigation by Manteca detective Jason Bonetti helped lead to Boutelle’s arrest and uncovered the string of robberies that included a Dec. 13 robbery at a Manteca Subway, a Dec. 17 robbery at French Cleaners and the most recent, on Jan. 3, at Pizza Hut.

The San Joaquin County District Attorney’s office will be seeking charges for the crimes that took place in Manteca. It’ll be up to the Sacramento County District Attorney whether charges will be filed in the Elk Grove case, and Boutelle will also likely have to stand for an extensive list of charges in Stanislaus County as well.
