Parolee arrested with sawed-off rifle going back to prison

A parolee in possession with a sawed-off rifle who was arrested tuesday shortly after 1 P.M. In the 200 block of south lincoln avenue will be going back to prison.

Esmond post, 33, listed as a transient, was the subject of a parole search when officers confronted him in a downtown manteca residence.

Manteca police said he was charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm, a felon in possession of a loaded firearm, and for being in possession of a concealable firearm and possession of a short-barreled rifle.

Post was transported to san joaquin county jail in french camp to be processed back to prison.
