Parolee-at-large Eric Law Jr, 25, of Manteca was arrested at about 2:30 p.m. Monday after he was seen getting into a reported stolen vehicle parked in the 700 block of North Grant Street.
Delta Auto Theft Task Force (DELTARAT) officer Stephen Schluer said he located the stolen vehicle, parked, and watched to see if anyone would get in it and drive away.
Law reportedly got into the 1995 Honda that had been stolen out of Stockton on St. Patrick’s Day. The parolee saw the officer behind him and pulled over in the 800 block of Ralph Street. Schluer called for a code-3 backup and made the arrest.
Schluer said Law was charged with auto theft and possession of a stolen vehicle enhanced with a prior conviction and with a prior prison term. He was also reportedly driving with a suspended license for a prior DUI conviction.
Law was transported to San Joaquin County Jail in French Camp.
