RIPON — The prevention of fraud and learning what citizens can do for relief who find themselves caught up in a financial trap will be the center of focus in tonight’s police discussion at the Ripon Community Center.

Detective Anthony DeMarinis is the department’s expert on fraud and is a member and past president of the California Financial Crimes Investigators Association.  He is also expected to discuss past scams that have been seen on Craigslist.

Officer Danny Sauer will take questions on the city’s Patrol Area 2 at the community meeting where citizens may offer their concerns occurring within Ripon neighborhoods.

First Sgt. Steve Merchant encouraged citizens of the community to log on to the Ripon Police Department’s website for further information at www.riponpd.org. The website also lists the dates of other planned neighborhood police meetings with residents from the different patrol areas.
