LATHROP – A 15-year-old student at Lathrop High School was arrested Monday on campus by Sheriff’s deputies on charges of possession of a controlled substance, suspected to be the drug ecstasy. The student, who was not identified because he is a minor, was released on a citation to his parents.
According to police reports, the school vice principal contacted Lathrop Police after receiving information that the student had brought to school a controlled substance. Police found the student hid the four ecstasy pills in an empty pill container which he had placed in the outer flap of his backpack.
The teen-ager is facing charges of possession a controlled substance.
