A stolen car taken from Elk Grove slammed into a home at the corner of Junction Drive and Daniels Street Friday morning.

Two male juveniles – 17 and 16 years of age – were arrested by Manteca Police following the 8:45 a.m. incident.

After hitting the house the 16-year-old driver was able to get the car back on the roadway and attempt to flee the area.  The driver made it about six blocks before Manteca Police officers located the vehicle with the help of several citizens who followed the 2003 white Honda Accord.  The driver and another 17 year old suspect decided to run and hide in an irrigation canal.  Officers ordered them out of the canal and  they were taken into custody.  The vehicle was stolen out of Elk Grove by one of the boys and the second boy was picked up in Manteca from his house.   Both were taken to county hospital and medically cleared to be booked in the San Joaquin County Juvenile hall.

They were charged with a hit and run accident, stolen vehicle, possession of stolen vehicle, and having no drivers license.
