Two brothers were arrested by lathrop officers allegedly attempting to steal electrical equipment from the lathrop high school press box shortly after midnight tuesday morning.

Harley whitt, 18, and dillon whitt, 20, were apprehended by officers responding to a burglar alarm at the high school stadium.

Deputies said the two apparently broke in through a roof hatch causing damage to the lock and attempted to pull out the electrical equipment.

When deputies arrived on the scene they surrounded the press box as a door opened and officers ordered the pair to exit with their hands up.  The door immediately closed and was locked from inside, police said.

Deputies told the duo inside the press box that a key would be obtained. Reconsidering they opened a door at the south end of the press box and were taken into custody without incident.

Both are charged with felony burglary and vandalism and are being held in lieu of $153,000 bail in the san joaquin county jail in french camp.
