Two men authorities believe were responsible shooting into a Moffat Boulevard motel on May 9 have been arrested.

Elias Portillo, 19, and Anthony Escobar, 18, were both arrested early Friday morning by the Manteca Police Department after an investigation by the gang unit determined that they were responsible for firing a gun through the window at The Inn by the Station last month.

Earl Woodman II was struck in the lower leg during the shooting and was transported to San Joaquin General Hospital where he was treated and then released.

Both Portillo and Escobar are being charged with use of a deadly weapon, street terrorism, assault with a firearm on a person, being an addict/felon in possession of a firearm and attempted murder. All are felonies.

They are both set to appear in the Manteca branch of the San Joaquin Superior Court today at 1:30 p.m.
