Utility theft leads police to legal indoor pot grow

The PG&E Theft Division alerted Manteca Police officers to a home that not only was allegedly stealing power, but that also had an indoor marijuana grow in need of that power source for temperature control.

Joseph Dollar and his wife Aberleen were arrested at their Cache Avenue home. However police found that the marijuana grow was not illegal since Dollar had a medical marijuana recommendation. Officers left the grow intact.

Due to the bypassing of the electricity PG&E reportedly cut the power off to the house and a Manteca code enforcement officer closed the house preventing anyone from living there.  However, it was noted that the residents or owners will be allowed to enter the home to bring the building and its living standards back up to code.
