The investigation into multiple complaints from Manteca Bulletin staff members against former publisher Paul Mahony, 54, is reportedly continuing.

Manteca Police Chief David Bricker said that no charges have yet been filed by the San Joaquin County District Attorney’s Office against Mahony.  The complaints were forwarded to the district attorney on Thursday.

Detective Sergeant Tony Souza said Monday that he expects word on the case to come later this week from the district attorney’s office signaling whether they are planning to prosecute in the case.

Mahony has served as publisher of the Bulletin for some four years, also supervising operations of sister publications in Oakdale, Turlock, Ceres, Ripon, Riverbank and Escalon.

Morris Multimedia Corporation of Savannah, Georgia – owner of the newspapers – announced Mahony’s dismissal last Tuesday, February 10.
