It took a community to help make possible the new scoreboards at the respective Ripon High baseball and softball fields.
Beginning on Monday, Ripon Unified officials will honor those individuals, groups and businesses who donated generously to the cause.
All told, they chipped in $20,000 to go towards the scoreboards.
De Graff Construction, Brocchini Farms, the Ripon High Boosters, the Ripon Quarterback Club, South San Joaquin Irrigation District, and Pizza Plus will be recognized at 3:45 p.m. prior to the Ripon High Indians preseason affair against visiting Central Catholic.
A similar-type ceremony is also planned for Wednesday, March 2, at 3:15 p.m. or just prior to the Ripon High-Central Catholic baseball game.
In November, the Ripon Unified school board gave the nod to JHK Construction, Inc. to install both scoreboards.
The hope was to have both scoreboards installed and in operation in time for the spring sports schedule.
Weather conditions were among the variable factored in for completion schedule.
“RHS is excited to announce that the baseball and softball programs will be starting off the spring season with brand new scoreboards on their respective fields,” said Susan DaBranca, who is the Executive Assistant to Superintendent Siegrid “Ziggy” Robeson.
