It can cost $12,995 to obtain a cosmetology degree.

Someone could easily get that education for significantly less and help struggling kids at the same time thanks to Dior Schools.

It is part of Saturday’s 10th annual Night of Kings and Queens Casino Night taking place from 6 to 11:30 p.m. at the MRPS Hall, 133 N. Grant St. as a benefit for Give Every Child a Chance.

Dior is offering a full-ride scholarship valued at $12,995 that covers 1,600 hours of instruction. It includes tuition, books and a starter kit.  Accommodations are available for full time and part time students. The enrollment fee of $150 is not included.

“It is an amazing bid item,” said GECAC Chief Executive Officer Carol Davis. “Some parent could secure a career for their daughter or son for a lot less than what it would cost them to enroll normally and help kids with tutoring at the same time.”

Dior has schools in Turlock, Modesto and Manteca. The Manteca campus is at 977 W. Center St.

They also offer courses for esthetics (600 hours), nail tech (400 hours) and refresher program (150 hours).

New classes start each month. Day classes are Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Evening classes are also available.

They also offer job placement assistance in addition to hands-on training.
