Doctors Hospital CEO Nico Tejeda is being reassigned by the parent Tenet Health Care Corporation to East Side Hospital in El Paso, Texas in the Sierra Providence Health Network.

The move from Manteca to El Paso is scheduled to be completed by July 13.

Tejeda has enjoyed multiple successes at Doctors with outstanding employee retention, providing a stable work environment and will now be among three Tenet hospitals in El Paso. Tejeda has also served as Manteca Chamber of Commerce president for the last year leaving improvements throughout the business community.

Sierra Providence recently completed a $67 million construction project, including a new patient tower and a new expanded Emergency Department.

Tenet lauded Tejeda’s leadership at Doctors in Manteca saying he led the hospital to improvements in adjusted admissions and quality. Additionally he established many new service lines, including interventional radiology and the area’s first outpatient wound care center.

Tejeda made a daily practice of walking through the hospital during the week and making personal contacts with his staff members. He went to them; they didn’t have to go to him.

Tejeda holds a master’s degree in health services administration from the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas and a bachelor’s degree in business management from Wichita State University in Wichita, Kansas.
