Doctors Hospital has been certified as a primary advanced stroke center.
The Manteca hospital has earned the Joint Commission’s Joint Gold Seal of Approval as well as the American Heart Association’s and the American Stroke Association’s nod for its excellent work in the arena of stroke recovery.
To earn the coveted certification, Doctors underwent a rigorous onsite review by The Joint Commission two months ago where experts evaluated DHM’s compliance with stroke related standards and requirements including program management and the delivery of clinical care and performance improvement.
Hospital CEO Ike Mmeje said in a prepared statement, “The physicians, nurses and other staff members at Doctors are proud and excited to receive the advanced certification which is another affirmation of the culture of excellence we are building at our hospital and our dedication to providing high quality advanced stroke care for our patients.”
Patrick Phelan, interim executive director of the hospital business development with the Joint Commission added that Doctors has thoroughly demonstrated the greatest level of commitment to the care of stroke patients through its Advanced Certification for Primary Stroke Center.
“We commend Doctors Hospital of Manteca for becoming a leader in stroke care, potentially providing a higher standard of care for stroke patients in its community,” Phelan said
