Doctors Hospital of Manteca has appointed Nicholas R. Tejeda as its Chief Executive Officer.  As CEO, Tejeda will oversee strategic, operational and clinical activities for the 73-bed acute care hospital.

“Nicholas is an outstanding leader with an unquenchable desire for excellence,” said Jeffrey Koury, Senior Vice President of Operations for Tenet’s California region. “I am confident that his leadership skills, relationship-building acumen and passion for clinical care will make him an invaluable asset to Doctors Hospital of Manteca and the surrounding community.”

Tejeda previously served as chief operating officer of Tenet’s Twin Cities Community Hospital.  During his tenure at the 122-bed hospital, Tejeda assisted in the acquisition and initial operations of the hospital’s first urgent care center and led the development of a teleneurology program and an emergency medicine program aimed at serving the community’s growing elderly population.

Prior to joining Tenet, Tejeda served as vice president, hospital and ambulatory operations at Saint Mary’s Health Network in Reno, Nev.  He also has worked at Catholic Healthcare West, a not-for-profit health system in California, Via Christi Health Systems, a Catholic Health System in Kansas, and KeyCentrix, a provider of pharmacy management software in San Francisco, California.

Tejeda holds a bachelor’s degree in business management from Wichita State University in Wichita, Kan., and a master’s degree in health services administration from the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas.  He is president of the National Forum of Latino Healthcare Executives and a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives, and was recognized by Modern Healthcare as an “Up and Comer” in 2011.
