In recent years, Brock Elliott School has been near or in excess of  800.

That’s the magic number of the state Department of Education’s Academic Performance Index, with the scores ranging from 200 to 1,000.

Since exceeding 800, the Manteca Unified elementary school site has continued to improve on that mark, tallying 825 in the API results released last month.

To recognize students for their effort in the Standardized Testing and Reporting, the school held a STAR celebration on Friday.

On the previous day, the staff was treated to a special luncheon.

The STAR student party was a school-wide event, consisting of bounce houses, an ice cream party and plenty of fun stations.

Brock Elliott was one of six schools in the district to achieve 800 or better in this portion of the STAR exam.
