Stella Brockman School took time out to celebrate one accomplishment.

At the same time, the Manteca Unified site geared up for the upcoming Standardized Testing and Reporting state exam with a school-wide STAR rally.

Stella Brockman is coming off an 808 score in the Academic Performance Index – this is the cornerstone of the California Public Schools Accountability Act of 1999, measuring the academic performance and growth of schools based on a variety of academic measures – with 800 as the target for all public schools.

Scores range from 200 to 1,000 in the subject groups of language arts and math.

Stella Brockman was one of six schools in the district to achieve 800 or better.

The April 16 event kicked off with a STAR Jumper assembly, recognizing those students who made significant improvements or had strong showings in the state exam.

In the afternoon, students took part in a school-wide STAR Party, consisting of music, fun activities, an assortment of bounce houses, and free ice cream made possible by the Stella Brockman PTA.
