Academic excellence and perfect attendance will be celebrated at Lathrop High come Nov. 2.

The inaugural Spartans GREATS assembly is scheduled for that morning beginning at 10:30 in the large gymnasium.

This black and gold event – the school’s colors – honors those students who achieved 2.25 grade point averages or better based on last spring semester.

According to teacher Judy Avila, students and staff are scheduled to perform at this assembly, where, much like Sierra High’s annual Lobo Gold Rally, prizes donated by parents, staff and community members will be awarded to students.

She added that the assembly is also open to parents and community folks.

Lathrop High is located at 657 Spartan Way.
