RIPON — Seven Colony Oak Elementary School graduates were presented with the coveted Trustee Awards Tuesday night by board member Kit Oase in the multi-use room on the Ripon campus.

Six of the seven posted 4.0 grade point averages and the seventh had a 3.57 for his eighth-grade year with a total of 52 students walking across the stage to accept their diplomas.   Melanie Ulrich has served as class president.

The students included Erin Wever, Shannon Wesley, Gagandip Singh, Sarah Qualle, Jackie Kresse, Rema Khacho and Luciano Gonzalez.  Four of the recipients had been at Colony beginning in kindergarten.  They were Gagandip Singh, Erin Wever, Jackie Kresse and Sarah Qualle.

Principal Sylvia Ehler said the graduates are a “bunch of good kids” that will be missed on campus.  “They were here as fourth graders when I came.  I’m pleased to have been here to watch them grow and mature,” she added.

The guest speaker was alumna Lauren Goeppert who will be attending U.C. Santa Barbara with a major in Humanities.

Citizenship awards went to Amendip Singh and Gagandip Singh.  The two eighth-grade teachers were Terri Beam and Wes Van Vuren.
